Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, a Mexican-American sportscaster. She is currently employed by ESPN as a reporter for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. She was hired by ESPN in the year of 2016. She is the daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta has been bilingual since age nine. Her skill was instrumental in helping her get her first job as a producer assistant at Univision Miami in which she was a producer of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Her first job was as a reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. In 2009 she moved to Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become a news reporter for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Reporters covered issues related to immigration and drug trafficking throughout Texas as well as Mexico. Anchor duties for sports or weather were often asked for. She then anchored and reported on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. She also did segments on the Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. In addition, she hosted the local Univision 23 sports program Accion Deportiva Extra on which she was anchor. She was promoted as anchor of the sports segment to Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She also served as anchor of the sports segment on Primer Impacto, a magazine program on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in Veracruz, Mexico. The family moved from Veracruz Mexico to Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November, 1985. There is an older sister. The family in 1992 left Mexico and relocated to Miami. After a while they separated, and in 1995 Fabio Fajardo got married again. He passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. On a trip Antonietta spent the time at the house of her sister Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sibling had recently gotten a new job. Antonietta is a senior in high school, yet she had a clear idea of the path she wanted to pursue. While deciding if Mount Union would be a good fit for her Antonietta went to visit the school. It was an amazing campus. The university also provided her with the program she was interested in. After completing her high school education, she enrolled in the University to pursue media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and also the head of WRMU and WRMU, which she's a member. They developed a close friendship. Her professor, Mark Bergmann, inspired her with his enthusiasm for journalism. He also deeply impacted her.
